According to KHOU 11, a doctor in New York wrote a very special prescription for one of his patients. Even after getting fully vaccinated and waiting a couple of weeks, Evelyn Shaw was still uneasy about relaxing the strict safety protocols she'd been following for the past year.
Her doctor eased her fears with a note on official prescription stationery that read as follows:
"You are allowed to hug your granddaughter."
Check out the emotional video below. Ms. Shaw's daughter posted about the moment and said it was the first hug her mother had gotten from anyone in a year.
