The Mayor’s Commission on Re-Entry Announces a Record Restriction Event

The Mayor’s Commission on Re-Entry is happy to announce that the Georgia Justice Project has partnered with the Access to Justice Committee of the Georgia Bar to bring a virtual Record Restriction (Expungement) event to the Columbus area on Friday, September 11th at 10:00 AM.

People with a criminal record are encouraged to attend to learn more about what can be done to clean-up their record and ultimately remove employment and housing barriers.

Attorneys from the Georgia Justice Project will give a presentation explaining Georgia’s newly expanded expungement law and which records might be eligible.

Everyone who attends can apply to meet with an attorney, and those eligible for record restriction will receive FREE legal assistance.

Registration is required to attend this virtual event.

To register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/virtual-record-restriction-educational-town-hall-tickets117795362099.

The meeting will take place on Zoom. On the day of the event, attendees can call in (a phone number will be provided by the hosts) or connect via the internet to view the presentation.
