Josh Peck is explaining why he excluded certain people from his wedding day.
On the Thursday (March 27) episode of his Good Guys podcast, Peck shared some of his reasoning for limiting the guest list when he tied the knot with wife Page O'Brien in 2017. The actor ruffled some feathers at the time by not inviting certain people from his past, such as his Drake & Josh costar Drake Bell and their fellow cast members, per People.
Bell, who was a guest on the podcast episode, has previously spoken out about how hurt he was by the decision, so the pair cleared the air while Peck explained that the choice was less to do about his old friend and more with his own journey at the time. Peck claimed it wasn't "an indictment of one particular person," adding that he loves both Bell and Miranda Cosgrove, who played their scheming younger sister on the show. In fact, Peck would do things differently now that how he handled the situation back then.
"There's so many people that I probably would, now at 38, wanted to be there," he said. "But at 30, I just wanted to leave it all behind because it felt like it didn't serve me anymore. ... And the realization I had was when you wrote that stuff during my wedding about our friendship and all these things and our love and our history."
Following Peck's wedding, Bell shared a series of tweets about his disappointment of not being invited, which he later recanted. The duo addressed this on the podcast, with Peck noting that their views on their friendship were different at the time.
"[Bell was] living in a world where our relationship should have been, while I was too much living in the past of when our relationship wasn't great and it was really somewhere in the middle," he said, adding that they had rarely seen each other over the past 10 years and "should have been closer."
Thursday's episode was the conclusion of a two-part stint of Peck and Bell reuniting on the former's podcast. During the first part, Bell shared how the abuse he suffered as a teenager, revealed in the 2024 docuseries Quiet on Set, affected his friendship with his costar.
